I think the light trails gives it something a little extra. All three are very good but for the last one stands out a bit more. TFS

same here, the last just seems to have better composition and more interest.

I like the last one the most too. but.........

it does look a bit pinched at the top and might benifit from having a little extra sky added. Either in PS (or similar) or going back to re-shoot if you're of a purerist nature.

Also, for my taste I'd like to see a bit more defination on the bridge as it dips below the skyline. I bet there is plenty more in the file still.

I think Daz summed it up - that last one is a lovely shot just losing a bit too much shadow detail.

If you'd only left a bit more room at the top! :)

Great shots, all are good, but I agree with others, #3 is a great composition.

I prefer CTs edit on it.

The edited one is superb.
This bridge is on my 'to do' list.
Which side of the bridge were you, the Fife side or the Edinburgh side?

I like how you went for the road bridge instead of the rail bridge too!

Bach's love the rail bridge but the sky the other night was just so stunning behind the road bridge and boring behind the rail bridge that I hardly took any shots!!

I was mostly on the edinburgh side. Down in south queensferry you get a good angle onto the bridge. The long exposure shot was taken from the top car park. Near to the roundabout at the bridge there used to be a hotel, which is sadly gone now but the car park is still there, you get good views from there.

Thanks for your comments guys and I too like the edit version, I shall have a little 'play' in photoshop.

:D

Thanks Trinity.

I've a big outing coming up on 18th June with about 12 photographers in Edinburgh.

I might just stop off at that car park on the way home!

Sorry guys not trying to be difficult but I prefer the second. Just cropped the pipe out bottom and played with levels.

i think 3 is fantsitic. i likie the sky in the original but the detail in ct's makes it stand out a little more :)
