List of English words?

Hello.

Any of you lot know where I might get an English wordlist? It needs to be in TXT format, or a format which can be easily converted to TXT (so for instance, PDF format is no good).

I already have one that contains 180,000 words, but it has problems.

1. Its American. For example, "mom" is in it, while "mum" is not.
2. It contains swear words.

You can imagine how long it would take to go through that many words, remove all the swear words and de-Americanise it.

Thx - I currently have the ENABLE wordlist, plus the one you mentioned above which is about 100,000 words shorter than ENABLE, and still has profanities in it.

but profanities may or may not be english, so really if they are they have a right to be in there

This is for a game I'm making. It will likely be played by kids so I have to get as many dodgy words out as possible.

Try searching for some old UNIX spell dictionaries.
