I've been rather busy this week with the camera.
Here's one from yesterday evening.

New Brighton Lighthouse.
http://www.mattsphotos.co.uk/TP/MEP_C7E62750601.jpg

Tamron 17-35 @ 32mm, 3 stop ND grad, Circ. polarizer.
f16 @ 1/5th ISO 100.

I made the mistake of leaving the tripod plate at home in the camera bag
(I won't be doing that again). So I had to hold the camera on top of the
tripod, then held my breath while pressing the shutter.
It didn't turn out to bad after all, considering I nearly walked away without
attempting the shot.

Interesting colours in that shot. I cant make up my mind whether it works or not though.

Good man.

What's that saying about a man who asks is a fool for 5 minutes, but a man who doesnt ask is a fool for a lifetime...Same goes...It costs nothing to attempt the shot except a few seconds of your time deleting it afterwards...

Kudos on pulling it off

But :nono: on holding your breath....any self respecting sniper :suspect: will tell you to breathe slowly, and squeeze the tri...I mean shutter, on the exhale. ;) :D

Works for me - well worth having a go for that one. I have a tripod plate permanently attached to both my long lenses and the 1D body, otherwise, they're easily forgotten when you're chucking stuff in a bag

I think that is nicely done:thumbs:

Not fair, I want to see it...its only about 500px high on my screen...looks very nice though.

Good colours and detail...I'd really like to see full size?

Did I miss it or something?

really like this shot matt, the colours reflecting in the water work very well. i wonder what it would have been like as a landscape shot too.

Ahh New Brighton lighthouse. Lovely photogenic shot. I caught a lovely sunset there last year.
Must go again sometime

Corker of a shot Matt, but I've said that already I think :)

Thanks everyone.

Nice lighthouse but where are YOUR red kites and puffins ?
They will be processed soon, and available for viewing on my new website, (when its finished).

i wonder what it would have been like as a landscape shot too.
When I took this shot, the sun was just to the left of the lighthouse.
Including it in the shot with the lighthouse would have left me with either a silhouette or blown highlights.
I did attempt it, but I am not happy with the results, (an excuse to go back and try again).

I'd really like to see full size
Unfortunately, due to image theft in the past, I will only be showing images
at 500 pixels along the longest edge. The only other option would be to include
a copyright logo, which most people don't want to see on the images.

Once again, Thanks.
