Both lovely images indeed. Really transport you to the mood of the place.

With the pano shot, was that on a full pan head thingy or just swung round and then stitched?

Not a full pan head thingy just a good ball head with, and I quote, "a separate lock on the panoramic axis allows for rotation adjustment or panning to be carried out without losing framing ".
It's a Manfrotto 468MGRC0 HYDROSTATIC BALL HEAD. I can recommend it.

The software I use PT Assembler and with a good pair of steady hands no tripod is necessary. Obviously at this time in the morning the light demands a tripod.

WOW that's impressive. I would have expected to see some misalignment with the lens not rotating round the nodal point.

It's all down to the software.
The above pano images were shot at 17mm.
For stitching that's normally a no no.
Usually I would be at 40mm but circumstances forced me to use 17mm.

Yes peeps...thats what time you have to get up for a sunrise up here.
I'm still getting used to it, in fact only last week I installed a blackout blind in the bedroom.

Beautiful shots Garnock, especially like the first one.
Very clean, smooth images too without looking plasticky or over-processed.
