Anyone got one?

Just ordered it

£219.00 from Warehouse Express :)

Let's hope it's better than the 18-70 kit lens I got with my Sony a200.......

Phew, that's a relief

This really is a learning curve, Stan. I should have bought the a200 body only and then bought separate lenses. Doh! :bonk:

Still, you live and learn

Its a superb lens, I've used the Nikon version and it outperforms the (excellent) Nikkor 18-70 DX at the long end.

Ouch! Trouble is, I bought the camera before I found this den of iniquity :(

a fantastic lens for the money, mine practically lives on my 30D only slight negative is it's a bit slow at the long end but thats just being picky!

Beware fully open at 17mm. A bit soft with CAs at the edges otherwise a pretty good lens.

Good choice, I have the canon fit version and it does a great job as my walk around lens. Nice and sharp and pretty quick too.

Another positive vote, I used mine exclusively until receiving my new Sigma 10-20, both great lenses BTW !!

It arrived today

Very nice!

I'll road test it on Saturday. Supposed to be nice weather

Not sure about these Sigma lens caps, though. They don't seem to be very secure :(

I bought a centre-pinch one to replace the original which was a pain to use with the lens hood

Enjoy the lens !!

This one (and the one for my 70-300) is a centre-pinch. They seem a bit flimsy - like I only have to look at them and they'll pop out

Hang on, I'll rephrase that........

Thanks, by the way. I'll do my best to enjoy the lens

i have this lens and is my walk about lens. it feels solid and nice to use. the optics are great and sharp. Wide enough for landscapes and long enough for most things on a walkabout lens.
