Has anybody ever come across this beast before - AF 1000mm f8 - 550mm in length, 5240g!
Have seen one for sale for £1200 (Nikon fitting)

No and can't find much on Google about it. I was looking at the 300 -800 but a 1000mm lens sounds appealing and half the price of the 300 - 800. Can't find reviews though. Have you any links?

No, I couldn't find much either! FYI it is for sale at WaltersPhotoVideo in the clearance section.

Oh I don't know. It's obviously going to be on a tripod and if the object your shooting isn't moving..................or even if it is:

There are comments on the web, just google the model.

Consensus appears to be slow AF and needs huge tripod to keep it still.
