Finally went and got a new monitor, asus MM17D, not top class by any stretch of the imagination but I can read my emails again :lol: Every thing looks a LOT brighter too, even though it looks to be set up properly according to adobe gamma. And so much more working space :D

£150 from the guy that normally does our stuff. 3 year warranty, no dead pixel guarantee, 8ms seems pretty decent :)
