Just thank your lucky stars you're not shooting Nikon - our 70-200 costs even more :bang:
You'll feel very happy when you get it, until you pick it up, then you'll realise what a lump it is. I should know.. it hardly ever leaves my 40D. Heavy, but gorgeous

nice one...i got myself the sony 70-200 F/2.8 "G" lens yesterday, which kinda left me feeling skint, but using it today at gigrin farm on the TP meet made me wonder how the hell i managed without one,so the pain of spending £1200 soon went away

It is a SERIOUSLY lovely lens, no matter what body you use it on.:thumbs::thumbs:
And if you think it is heavy, go and find a 300/2.8, put it on a 1D and cover 5 solid hours of continuous schoolboy rugby on the run up and down the sides of two fields side by side...
THEN come and tell me a 70-200 is heavy:D:thumbs:
