It seems it was due to a DOS attack on another site, and unfortunately, we got caught in the crossfire.

Luckily our hosts were on the issue pretty quickly, and sorted it as soon as they could.

So allow me to apologise for us for the outage...I promise to whip the hamster harder next time :)

I can grrr and go all red in the face if you want Marianne? There's no shortage of topics in todays world that narks me :p

Bad drivers, bad manners, unruly kids, lacklustre parents...and then of course there's always Tony Blair or the French :p

Just pick your topic and I shall blow my top accordingly :D...lol

Sammy, sorry about that. We do strive to keep such instances of work related downtime to a minimum (work related, being that members might have to do some). We alwas strive to keep people away from having to do a bit, so we fully understand the pressures that recent outages may have been put upon the members.

If, in future, you feel the need to do some work, either due to a site outage, or other some such anomaly...We'd like to offer the following tips for stalling for time :)

01 : Make a cup of tea....Once you've made yours, you may like to offer everyone else in the office a cup of tea too.. But only one person at a time, emptying the kettle, refilling it to the top, and reboiling it each time. We estimate this can average about 6 minutes per cuppa, including walking time from desk to kitchen, so a 10 person office can take almost an hour (or longer if you're resourceful of taking the long way round to the kitchen).
Naturally, after an hours worth of brewing up for everyone else, you are then ready for your next cuppa.

02 : If you're caught short and need to do some actual work, then you may find it timely to suddenly need the loo. Fortunately for you, someone has *just* told you that the loos on your floor are out of order. So you have to go to the toilets on the top floor. Don't forget to press down on the lift by mistake first. Then get out at the wrong floor. Walk down the stairs, and wait for the lift again.
Don't forget to chat along the way...every minute wasted is a minute spent doing no work.

We feel that if you stick to these guidelines, by the time you are complete in your tasks, the forums should be back online and normal service of slacking and idling along will be resumed

Can we make this thread sticky so that I can refer to it from time to time?

Why oh why didnt I use my time to do something nails or photography related, I dont know!
No, instead I now have to blame you lot for my outburst in the garden. Its your fault I have blisters on 'my trigger finger', Im dirty, my bin is full to bursting & muscles ache that I never knew I had. Marcel ... thats twice youve made me work this week. Im now going to console myself with a cool shower followed by a custard tart & a cuppa, then my acing butt isnt going to move from this chair for the rest of the afternoon.
Thank heaven for long nails ... because Id never be able to type with my poor blistered fingers!!!
