There is something seriously strange about the gallery viewing :(

I keep clicking next and I get the same few pictures over and over again... then a new one appears. I can't see them all by just clicking next

I can see them by clicking thumbnails and then back again...wierd

not seeing a problem myself, but i will look into it

All I can think of Robert is that you don't have enough images enabled in 'View Per page' ?

I didn't choose anything.... it says 1000000 per page so i guess thats enough :)

I just clicked the link in the thread... clicked top left thumbnail then 'next image'...next image..... and I see different pictures but it's like it is set to 'random' but with nothing top stop numerous repeats before I see something new.

????? who is G TOMO ??? :)

G Tomo is No2 Son. He was booked on on my PC and I forget to log him off before answering Robert's post. ;)

I'll double check the view style. It was set to random before it was open, but I definately changed it. I'll double check though.

New system is good. I like being able to vote by clicking. But are we supposed to be able to see the number of votes?

I don't think we're supposed to see them. I suppose it could influence the voting? Probably a setting in control panel somewhere, but we leave the clever stuff to Bod - I had enough trouble uploading the pics.

RobertP

The top left thumb gives me a full image with 'previous' link only.... but if I keep clicking previous I see them all and once only now - so somethings been fixed :)

minimeeze
03-07-2006, 09:24
Yep, something's been fixed as I could only see the same 4 images yesterday when i tried to see them as a slideshow.
My vote's in - a very high standard of work this time around :)

Love the new voting system, some great pics, I quite like seeing the number of votes each has so far, but think that once you have voted you shouldn't be able to change your mind, then it would stop people seeing the votes and changing theirs to match or compete.

under the picture you like the look of, click 'vote' and is if by magic, a vote is cast

Not logged in can no longer see the pictures.

Cheers matty - however as if by magic I can't see the word vote and I am logged in

You want to try it in Slideshow format ... once you've found the a picture to facilitate it ... it too is weird ...

And in addition it would be good to have the reference shown with the picture ...

IME at any rate ... :p

Edit = Voted ... :thumbs:

One vote each, yeah?

Marcel
04-07-2006, 18:20
Yup.
Unfortunately the limitations we're finding are limitations of the software itself.

One vote only is allowed, no first second or third places like before unfortunately.

I suppose it does simplfy things somewhat though.

Only problem is we're probably only going to get five people with any scores with the rest of us getting Big Fat Zeros :'( .With the old voting we at least could end up with a few points to stroke our egos with :)

//edit , make that 10 people scoring , must look properly in future .....

RobertP
04-07-2006, 19:46
I can safely predict I won't need to choose the next category :)

I would have liked to vote for 3 pictures - not necessarily as 1st 2nd 3rd.

Lots of very good entries there.

cant see a way of doing that with the gallery as is...but i will look into it

Joe T

I understand if we cant, but as gubby says it is a shame.

Im surprised that 10 poeple's pics have got votes tbh!

CT

Well it's the first time we've run the voting this way. I'm sure we can either fine tune it for future rounds or revert to the old system.

Same here, also once you have voted I don't think the option to change your vote should be there. That could possibly affect the numbers don't ya think boys? Anyway voted! Good luck everyone. :)

Couldn't agree more. Blind voting until voting is finished would be best for all.

Do you think I can make it three in a row? ... :naughty:  ;)

Thanks everyone. :) Still beaming. :)

Right tricky deciding the next theme, google didn't help...

The Seven Deadly Sins... Na, too difficult to judge.
Morning, noon and night... Err; I've got no chance of winning that one.
Vitality in the Social Services... Holly cow people actually do that sort of thing.

So I’ve gone for...

Motorcycles in London Night Scenes.

OK... FB has chosen. The subject for the next round is 'Abandoned' This round is going to be short and sweet ending on 31st July, the reason being that we're commencing a whole new format for the competition on the 1st of August.

So... thinking caps on and lens caps off... 'Abandoned' :D
