...second hand from a bloke at work for 50 quid. This will replace my Canon 75-300mm f4-5.6 USM II lens. Have I wasted some of my hard earned cash, or have I bought a slightly better lens for my money? I know it's still not going to be the best quality, but I'm thinking anything is better than what I've got?

I can't remember which lens is supposed to be best but assuming it's in good nick you could flog it on the bay for more than you paid for it and make a tidy profit!

I think some reviews say it's better than the Canon, take a few shots, compare them & flog the spare :)

Hopefully I'll have one of those by next spring. To be honest I bought it on a whim when I saw it up for sale today. I've already flogged my old Canon lens for 30 quid to another guy at work :)

I've been looking into 1 myself. I think I'll go for 1 in the near future but if you do decide to flog either of them, shortly, send me a PM :)
