View Full Version : Hmm.. Installed new hard drive - Keyboard & mouse now don't work.
Is it likely to be anything else than a loose connection? I've checked everything I can.. including removing the new HDD (it's now back to it's original state before I put the new drive in, but still no keyboard etc)
:help:
Thanks!
ps2, usb or wireless keyboard and mouse?
The plot thickens... It appears to be my wireless keyboard & mouse, as I've just found an old usb mouse, and that's working.
So at present:
USB mouse - Working
Wireless logitech keyboard & mouse - not working
is it wireless or bluetooth? you may have to connect them again with certain ones
Installed drivers compatible with op sys?
preferably whilst using non wireless
Wireless, I've tried reconnecting, still nothing. I've even changed the batteries, just in case of co-incidence. Still nothing.

The OS is still the same, it's still running from the original HDD at the moment, without the new one plugged in.
try plugging the dongle into another USB port
try the wireless on another pc
How strange.. I just wiggled the connections, rebooted and everything seems to have come to life!
Now, to reinstall the other drive again.
Thanks for your help

Go to control panel, then device manager, scroll down to keyboard/pointing devices to see if they are active. You can reinstall drivers from there if need be by right mouse clicking.
If a yellow circle attached to them, might be a driver has not loaded for some reason.
Doh!!! to late
Least he could type - I had nothing
