Hi guys
Sorry I have not had chance to visit and appraise. I will soon but when a flying spell comes you gotta do it.
Today I flew at invergordon where the largest Cruise ship to visit this year came in to the Cromarty Firth. I have other land based shots of it but heading to bed so I can get up early and FLY!!
Anyway this is what it looked like at berth in Invergordon

I flew over the Golf course as well. Funny looking things............

I have two wings at the moment with a third on the way (going to retire one). Each cost between £1-2K. The motor which is a powerful tandem unit cost £3K. Add a few hundred for reserve chute, GPS, vario and radio. Expensive toy but cheap for aviation.
Sources vary but best starting point is with a school to learn what to (and not to) do! Visit www.bhpa.co.uk or www.bmaa.org for a list of schools.
Off to ullapool now hopefully. See ya!

And I was expecting a pic of you in your shorts... I'm very disappointed now :( :p
The shot of the golf course is great - I like the geometrical patterns
GOlf course is brilliant!

Pic problem so removed...
Both well composed shots, but as already said, number 2 is fantastic! :D
Aye, number 2 is rather fab - reminds me of knotty wood grain.

Jebus... I just got vertigo from looking at that pic! :)
Brilliant stuff. I've just got an image of a tripod gaffa-taped to the wing somehow though.

Mmmmm...legs. That shot really puts the height/flying thing into perspective - made me feel dizzy just looking at it!

Nice shots Dave. They show the freedom of the sport. Fly and land wherever there is a space (and a bar most likely!).
They do SIV courses at Olu Deniz which are safety courses where you fly out over the lagoon and practice putting your glider into manouvres you would not normally do (stalls, spins, etc). They normally have a safety boat in case you overdo it and have to pull your reserve chute!
Thanks everyone else for the kind comments. I enjoy my flying so much and am pleased I can convey some of what I see when up there.
Mini Dinkle Spotter - I never flew at Ullapool yesterday as it was too windy but Gregor took a photo of me while we waited for coffee and, yes, you can see me in shorts!

Great flying display out there last month, they do one once a year, what you can do with those shoots is unbelievable and also crazy!:)
Saw one picked up out of the sea last month too ..
I wouldn't do it, but then you all enjoy it..
Saw one of your power driven jobbies this year too, wow do they go!
Bars?....yes plenty of em in Oludeniz Cloud 9 being one of the favorites with the flyers...

:woot:
the golf course is stunning!
The golf course is awesome!
Pic with dangling legs makes me feel queasy ... heights AND deep water ... err, no thanx!
Last pic, is that your catalogue-man impression?
If you had a 2 man version of one of those things I'd go for a flight without a second thought. Great hobby to have and the photo opps are great too.
another vote for the golf course pic here, absolutely cracking :)

I have a TANDEM so be very careful!
I might give you a call next time I'm up seeing the folks.
Great shots and the golf course one is superb. Have you thought any more about marketing them?

Wow.The golf course.
I'm not into heights, but I'd sure make an exception to get shots like that. Superb mate.
Do you have to file a flight plan or just go where you want?

Do you have to file a flight plan or just go where you want?
No flight plan needed if transiting uncontrolled airspace (which really is the only airspace I CANNOT enter) and is advisable if appraching controlled airspaces or airports and also near military training areas.
Yesterday I turned up at a gliding club outside Aviemore and asked to use their runway. They obliged as no-one was flying (god knows why as the thermals were STRONG  )
I will post up some of the photos I took later.
Thanks FB - I like it too and was surprised that a non-links Scottish course looked like this from the air.
