View Full Version : Just picked up my new toy :D
Went to the metro centre today and on passing Jessops, i decided to have a quick look to see if they had the 50D in stock, to my suprise, they did (even RGB don't have them yet for some reason). Anyway, i asked the price expecting them to tell me £1200 as it was but they had it down to £949, RGB is £899.
Anyway i asked if they'd pricematch RGB but 1. they didn't have stock and 2. it was over 30 miles away so they wouldn't, so i just bought it anyway, i've been waiting ages and i'm not gonna quibble over £50.
So i now own a 50D yay :D
no pics yet, i'm taking it out tomorrow though.

Did you get a lens with it?
Congrats on your new arrival Wez
For your info, firmware version 1.0.3 has just been released for the 50D. Supposedly better noise handling at high ISO. Haven't tried it myself yet but has to be worth installing :)

Further evidence of the credit crunch taking a hold on most people, then (!) :D :D ;) But nice one!. Hope you derive lots of enjoyment out of your new kit. :)
Congrats Wez, I hope you get many hours of enjoyment out of it
Well i've been out with it a couple of times so far, the whole menu system is different to my 30D so that's gonna take some getting used to, there's a couple of things i need to read into (focussing screens), other things that should be there and i can't find them lol. Other than that, i swore i'd never use live view, and now i have it, it really is handy for composing low down shots. And i am really liking it a lot, a great upgrade from the 30D. I'll post some pics on the forums later on.
