Morning all, I usually don't do much in way of macro, but for my coursework I need to take 10 macro images. I tried a few shots with my camera, but I can't get as close as I'd like to. I did a little surfing going by a student budget and found these:

http://www.raynox.co.jp/english/dcr/dcr250/indexdcr250eg.htm

They seem fairly affordable, £27-£40 in most places, but I'm a little hesitant about buying one, I don't fancy wasting that money on what could be a piece of crap. Has anybody got any experience with such kit?

You won't go far wrong buying a Raynox lens, very good quality for the price.

Just via ebay. The seller had 99% feedback and was from Glasgow I think. No sign of it yet though. Most parcels come after lunch with the Post Office deliverys, so heres hoping.

So the lens finally arrived, took a couple of test photos and it does the trick nicely. I'll take a few shots to fire up here tonight.

Not the most close-up shot, but I quite like this one. No photoshop, resized in MS Paint (old school ). Taken using a Pentax K100D with Pentax SMC DA 18-55mm lens at f/19, 1/180 shutter speed and ISO-3200.
