View Full Version : EF Lenses with manuals aperture rings

Are there any such beasts for EF mounts? I'm thinking of getting some of those cheap macro tubes of ebay (the ones with no electrical connections) to have a bit of a play, but I believe you can only use the lenses wide open if they don't have manuals aperture controls.
There is a trick you can do where you set the apperture with the lens attached normally and use the DoF button to set it. Once it's active you then detatch the lens leaving it set to f11 or whatever.

Nice tip. Tried it on my 20D and it works exactly as you stated
Never tried it myself, too chicken I guess! :p

Just got back in the country and tried it on my 350D and it works like a charm :)
