Does the D200 work fine with 16Gb cards? One website says yes, another no!

Having received my very low mileage D200 today i need something bigger than 512mb and 1gb for RAW

Thanks!

I'd rather have 4 4GB than 1 16GB card in case of errors.

16 gigs works fine in my S5 Pro, should be fine on the D200 in that case.

A quick google shows that some people can use them and others find they can only use up to 8GB although the camera will keep shooting.

It's up to you

I take it you don't already have a 16GB card? If not have you seen the prices of 4GB cards? It's more of a hassle to change them, but I shoot RAW and JPG Large/fine and get 120ish shots to each 4GB card....

Plus as has been said above, if something does happen to one card, you have not lost everything.

No i don't already have a 16Gb but at £19.99 delivered they are quite cheap!

I understand what people are saying regarding numerous cards would mean not loosing everything but in 8 years of digital photography it's not happened yet... tempting fate? Maybe! :help:

While 4gb are fine as has been said you don't get a lot in RAW mode, even on a 16gb if you shoot RAW +JPEG you only get about 500ish shots, if your worried about the "eggs in one basket" theory you could go for an 8gb or 12gb

And that's the card that causes major problems in a Fuji S5 Pro !!!
