View Full Version : Fortnightly Assignment.......3.....Post everything here

No, not the third one but variations on the theme of 3.

After some discussion, it's been kinda decided that we might try this without the poll at the end to make it less like a competition and more like an assignment! If it attracts less submissions as a result or if everybody lobbies for it, we can always put it back again later!

The multi-threaded octo-beast that was before has now been condensed down into one thread so you can all post in one easy location. Compact, bijou and convenient for the shops!

If we can, I'd like to get as many people to try something for this one, it's an easy subject with a wide scope so everybody should be able to produce something.

anyway...on with the show!

Sorry, had to be done!

Are we allowed more than one go at this?

Gandhi

of course you are!

up to a maximum of 3 :D

seriously though, I can't see why we shouldn't post more than one shot. Do-able now we're not polling at the end.

Three shots and no voting makes sense to me. The idea is get everyone posting pics and interpreting a theme, so if there's no voting involved it may be less daunting for people to get posting?

Not a new one from me, but apt for the current theme I thought. I will try to do something new for it too. ;)

Here goes first challenge entry, not the best but I enjoyed finding and taking the shot.

http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/gallery/data/500/3_cows.jpg

Unfortunatley its quite small as I couldn't figure out how to save it to the maximum 161kb file size, lowest quality still camo out as 185kb in PS. Oh well hope you like it.

lee in PS if you save for web then you can choose optimise to file size and pick the 160k limit that way.

Lee those cows look like Belted Galloways? last week we hardly saw any in Dumfries and Galloway.

We're they in Scotland?

Sorry Allan, but they were in the heart of England, Abbey Meadows of Redditch, to be exact. I've added a larger shot to my gallery, so that you might be able to tell what breed it is.

Cheers, Lee

Hi PPP,

have started to use this method now thanks, and seems to work for most of my pics, but cant get the file size for the shot above below 175kb

thanks for the help though.

I like Cow1 in the gallery :) - looks like the belty - unless any cow experts "herd" on in and tell me differently. Probably more in Redditch than in the whole of Dumfries and Galloway - though Foot and Mouth did for many round us in the north of Cumbria, but stocks are picking up.

If there was a vote (and it's fine that there isn't with me) mine would have gone to condyk for the post boxes and the bemused lady :)

Think I might have liked it even more in colour ;)

All the entries have been good though. Like the shot of the 3 windows too - blown highlights and all...just don't know why i do though :)
