So I thought I'd give macro photography a go
http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=9730
I decided to start with a water drop from the tap. I set up up my Minolta 7D on the Manfroto Tripod I bought from CT and started messing about. I was just staring to get some results when the kids came in with the au pair and I decided to move to the garden to avoid disaster.
I picked up the tripod and I hadn't secured the camera properly (don't ask!). The camera, lens (sigma 70-300mm) and flashgun (3600HS) fell onto the kitchen floor.
Amazingly, the camera and lens were undamaged but the flashgun snapped off the the camera, breaking the plastic slider. I have tried to superglue the plastic back together but no luck. I'm going to try araldite next unless anybody has some good ideas?
I could really do with it working by this weekend and I don't suppose I'll even be able to find a replcament by then....
I read water drop and thought...camera in the sink full of water :)
Plastic never glues as well as you would hope. Buying a spare part is the best solution. If you must glue then you need a plastic cement like you use for airfix kits. Araldite won't stick either - look what the tube cap is made out of :)

I must admit I got away with it lightly...
Is it the shoe attachment on the flashgun? Superglue or araldite won't touch it as the plastic is the same as the stuff they use to make the glue-tube lids. Polyethylene I think.
You need to sent the flashgun back for repair - don't worry - it's the biggest single thing they have to replace on flashguns as we do it all the time - snap them off, I mean.
Probably looking at about £50 from an independant repair shop.
waterdrop....i will have to find the one i did, trial and error and lots of shots n the bin

the light source was a £4.99 halogen lamp from Homebase, very bright, which is what i wanted, you can just make out the blue of it at the top...however now i have a flashgun so i will have another go at it in strobe!
