Taken at the weekend using my new 430ex flash.

Let me know what you think!

Good eye contact but maybe would have benefitted from using a polariser to stop the reflective glare?

That's a point. Would that actually work when using a flash? Thanks for the advice.

Hmmm not sure, as (circular) polarisers work on a 45 deg angle. Although it's certainly worth a try. It's a cracking shot, but the reflection is the thing I noticed first.

As it's the 430...bounce the flash ;) Problem solved :D, AND if you angle the flash right, you may also be able to use the polariser.

Oh I did bounce the flash. The old bunker wasn't really conducive to bounce flash what with the dark, angular wooden ceiling. Still trying to get my technique down though.

The more I look at the photo, the more I think that reflection is actually the strip-light on the ceiling than the flash, but the flash has brought it about.

excellent quality of shot...have to say that the reflections don't bother me...

Agree with Marianne. It couldn't happen properly without the reflections - gives it a context to 'live' within. Without the relections you'd have 'glassless' glass!

I like the reflections, i'd have had him holding the gun or at least left a few round on the helmet and jacket. Right now it looks more like a health and safety guide on how to wear your helmet.

Also looks like the closest he's ever got to a paintball is in a tin of Dulux

Yeah, technically its a good shot (Ive grown to love the reflections....still think they could be tinkered with a bit though).

Now sean mentions it, the lack of paint and evidence of 'action' does stand out.

Next time pop a couple of rounds on him, colour him in a bit :D

Yeah a bit more context would've been awesome but the shot was taken between rounds back at our home bunker. We weren't allowed to take our guns with us. :'(

Next time I'll remember to plug him in the helmet.
