thinking i should get a converter with my 70-200 to make it a tad more useful, now ive heard comments about the old ex one (especially the 2x) being a little naff optically, are the new DG ones any better? cant seem to find any reviews on the usual sites

I've been looking for the same answer Jamie

so if you find a good review.....please link to it.

Or better still, you buy both and review them :D

I think DG just means different coatings. However, I know that on some Sigma products they have changed other features.

I have a 1.4x tc which I use with my big Sigma and I think its pretty good.

I know you asked about Sigma but the Kenko Pro 300 / aka Tamron ones are reviewed here (http://www.nikonlinks.com/articles_teleconverter_review.htm)& seem to get the thumbs up ... Paul ;)
