View Full Version : Touchdown!
In the process of digging out old shots to play with on CS2, what do you think? I'm not sure if the frame works.

i like the pic, not sure about the non standard size though , ie not 3*2 or whatever it is ! lol i think that may be whats throwing your eye off with the border !

Very nice pic - but have to agree the size is a bit off putting, screws the composition up.
Top marks for the shot though (if possible I would recrop to a more standard format)
Asolutely rrrrraspin' shot! Deserves a better border. I can see how it's an awkward crop. Love that head though.
I disagree with the above - I'm loving the [nearly] square format here.
Compositionally I love it. You've got this whole 2-halves thing going on split right across a diagonal [green v blue] - and then across those two halves you've got this critter doing his thang.
On top of that it's wonderfully sharp, has a good amount of motion blur, and the DoF is just lovely.
Incase you hadn't guessed, it's a winner for me.

That's exactly what I like about the crop.
I got the impression that's what you were going for - but it's good to hear it from other people looking at it for the first time.
hehehe my screen isnt big enough to see it all in one go (flippin laptops), have to scroll so i didnt even notcie that ! :help:

Technically brilliant Colin but somehow I don't want too look at it for long. Maybe too realistic and my bee phobia is returning!
i like it, its a good shot...slightly wider border maybe?
Having started on 2.5in square I have a soft spot for the square format and think this great shot is perfect for it. I would always advice anyone who is looking at crops for their shots to try the square as it is often the making of it.
With shots like this it is putting me off trying macro as I know I shall be dissapointed with my results!!!
