im after a new tripod, i need it for mostly portraites, groups and some times sports. its to fit my Nikon D200 with grip and my Sigma 70-200 with t/c this will be the heaviest gear on it.
looking around £100 seen this one...Giottos GB1140 tripod and Giottos MH1001 ball and socket head. anyone got one heard of this one or any other advice welcome, thanks David

I think for that price range, Manfrotto do some nice integrated ones - the Digi range I beleive.

I have a Giottos monopod (the P-Pod) and its a good bit of kit.

Try looking at the Slik Pro 700dx can be had for £85 including head

i got a velbon maxi f with 3 way pan and tilt head for £65 from jessops,my main reason is i wanted something that was not to long when closed down so could easily fit in a backpack, but would fully extend to just over my shoulder height, i have to say for the price it,s great and exactly what i was looking for.
