What I'm trying to figure out is if I can attach my macbook to my slr so I can see my shots as I take them. I was thinking this could be very helpful in my studies. I have a hard time telling what the a pic is going to look like when it's on the small slr screen. Also I thought it would be great to see my adjustment effects as I make them in full view. I'm using a canon T3i /600D and a MacBook pro. Thanks for your help.

So done some more google research and it turns out it is very likely the camera so been looking at companies that can fix the focusing problem I think it is front focusing this company H.Lehmann in stoke on Trent said they can do this for £60 is this a good price or does anyone know of a good company to use?? I am looking for backdrops which are 'used' i.e. not plain black or white, but large pieces of stained/old/vintage fabric in a variety of colours (large enough to be used an equivalent to a 9ft Colorama without the train).

I have checked eBay but haven't found anything suitable. Every photographer I have spoken to have said they have luckily stumbled across them!

I know that 'set build' companies manufacture these, but I am looking to do this myself rather than pay someone. Any links or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi

I've a (fairly) new Lenovo Ideapad, and have calibrated the screen (manually, not using a spyder) to the best I can for the time being.

The problem I have is, every time I open an image, the screen dims and significantly increases contrast (I assume to what it thinks looks best).

The Ideapad has an NVidia graphics card, but I cannot find any settings to turn this function off.

This is the symbol that pops up as the screen adjusts

Seems to be saying "Your looking at an image, let me make it look better for you", which is exactly what I don't want it to do.
Any help would be very much appreciated. NB - this does not have anything to do with the power settings.
