well i've started the thread, so have laid down the challenge to myself really, just hope i'm still here at the end.

I hope over the coming weeks i can post something worth looking at, in the meantime for anybody following my progress thanks in advance for your support. I hope by the start of 2013 that improvements are noticeable

yay good luck girlie - 'big up' the girls hee hee

I've been shooting today, as my original idea for my 52 was to come full circle and have a photo of my DOH directing 1 of my dear springer spaniels while she was working, as i only started using a DSLR to get decent photos of the dogs, anyway that didn't quiet work out got a brill photo of Nev directing but no dog in shot so a bit out of context:bonk::bonk:

So walking back up Bearing in Mind i've been going to this pub for 4 years i spotted this and liked it, so heres my week 1:) not sure if the colour or the B/w works best so over to you:)

I actually really like the simplicity of it. no tripod so i had to up the ISO to 800 as the light was fading fast

Great idea and spot :) clean and simple with good contrast and silhouette effect.

I like the colour in the first but find myself very drawn to the conversion of the second :)

Hi Liz , welcome to the madhouse ! Look forward to sseing some shots of your working dog as well (y)

Direction....Great idea & lovely execution....color version for me...the blue sets it off perfectly

Thats my dilemma i couldn't decide either, think it was because it was so clean and simple that i decided to use it, think you could go a bit mad with this theme

The colour one works better. Nice shot. Shame you couldnt get the dog one to work out.

Thanks Alex i have a beauty of her picking a duck and someone elses dog with a lovely phessie in its mouth, but they're for another thread when i've been through them all:)

Will look out for those. Sounds like you had a very productive photographic day. Where was the shoot?

Its over at Farnley Tyas in Huddersfield, we've been working our dogs on there for 4 years, we usually take 2 and work one each, but decided to just go with the camera today and take piccies

The coloured version works for me Liz. Simple, clean and good focus.
Thought of the dog idea also, but they wont do anything for the wife.
Got an idea and should get something posted by Thursday.
Not many shoots left :-(

A good start to '52 - I like both versions - possibly colour has the edge.

Two for us, then beaters day. More excited about October than Christmas . lol

Hope you have a great new year Liz

I like the colour version.

I had a weather vane idea for my Direction theme, but went elsewhere.

When this weeks theme was posted i thought what the hell am i going to take a picture of, so after a bit of a think i came up with this, I think everyones a little afraid of the dark, but how to show it step forward some well worded lyrics from Iron Maiden and a fair bit of under exposure, I have 2 offerings for you again,

Not sure about this one, i like the WB but i don't really think you can see what the torch is.

Week2 Fear 1 by jalizcazan, on Flickr

Personally i think i prefer this one.

Will look forward to your comments

Liz

I was originally thinking of a fear of the dark one to for mine, but mind went blank on how to do it so was gonna be lazy and upload a black square

I think you've done a much better job on your shots, and im with you on the second shot. The fact you can see the torch is a torch and its on just adds to the scared of the dark bit.

Excellent job, now to think of an idea i can do and photograph.

Thanks, but i have to confess the torch isn't actually on, its lit from my head torch:LOL::LOL: keeping myself still to get the right amount of light in the torch head to reflect back was a challenge in itself, i wanted the reflection but didn't want to blow it

I'm liking the 2nd image Liz (y) I too thought the torch was on and quite liked the reflection. Just goes to show we look but we don't see! Difficult subject this week i'm still thinking...

Hi, Liz, missed your direction.

Like it, nice and crisp and well exposed. B&W for me, although for me it's a tad central.

Fear, on theme, but appears a bit rushed...I'm sure you can do better (y)

Cheers.

I have got another idea for a variation on this, will see if i get the time to shoot it later;)
