Remote trigger

Hi,

I've got a Canon 450D and am looking for a remote trigger...I've searched the forums and am now more confused than ever!

Can anyone recommend one?

What sort of trigger? Wired or radio? To trigger a remote flash or to trigger the shutter on the camera? How far away will the camera be?

Give us a clue and we'll be able to help.

Got a great radio trigger from Amazon for my 450D, but I think there's a guy on this forum, ?flash in the pan who does them aswell.

Sorry, in my rush for help, I forgot to actually give you some ideas on what I want!

I would prefer wireless, (and the range doesn't have to be too far away, it's more to avoid camera shake - say a couple of meters), and need it to trigger the shutter on the camera.

However, if you were to say wired is the way to go and a particular remote does shutter and / or flash then I'm open to opinions...

Thanks in advance

Bought myself a set of RF-602 triggers from FITP (Graham) on here...excellent quality, good range and will also trigger flash as well.

Enough range to use as a remote trigger for Football (>15metres distance with at least 15 other togs and associated interference)

Got it to work at at least 30metres (give or take) too, outside with flash and flashing person in a car with me outside on a long lens (the fun of car parks at premier league grounds)

Not tried any further distances...but top quality so far.

I have a 450d...

...and I'd highly recommend the Canon RC1 which is a small little remote that is attached to the camera strap. It can be set to instant or 2 second delay, and will easilly activate at a few metres.

I havn't had to deal with any other togs firing their remotes, and the sensor for activaton is on the front but at half the price of other remotes mentioned I'd certainly recommend it.

If you take a look at Jessops you'll see it's only £22.

I have both a wired and a wireless remote release. Both from Hama's range so relatively cheap. Since I got hold of the wireless one, I haven't used the wired release once. The wireless one came from Amazon's marketplace with the actual supplier being MyMemory (IIRC). This link should take you to the correct page for the one for the 450d.

Ok, so I've got it down to a wireless...

With such a choise of wireless, what should I really look out for or need on the device?

Buy the one Nod mentions, at Amazon. Ticks all the boxes and while it's on offer is cheaper than the RC-1.
