It's a Hoverfly I think, although I couldn't tell you the specific type - and yes I like it against the blue too.
I think perhaps you've overdone the sharpening a bit on re-sizing it though (for my taste anyway)

Thanks for the comment. I tried my hardest not to go to sharp. I'll have to do what I think, then take it down a notch next time.

It's called Jeff.

Looks like a Bee to me, hoverflys don't have hairs.

It's a bee, but a lot of hoverflies are hairy, as some of them are bee mimics.
