...Nothing interesting just Local. There was nothing inside the building and not a lot to capture. Made the most of it though, the pics were boring as hell before processing, so i've just desaturated them a touch, and added a little sepia in.

The building was a hotel, I was told yesterday that Alice in Wonderland was written there. Penmorfa hotel. It's so bare because it was due to be demolished (half of it was) But protestors kept the building, as it's part of llandudno's heritage

I met up with romper stomper from here, i'm sure he'll post his pics up.

Thoughts?

What a cool location, always nice to see Urbex locations close to home. Was there much of interest inside or totally stripped out? Great processing though, adds to the mood perfectly.

Loving your work mate :D

Thanks Gary! :)

It was due for demolition in 2006, there were protests which stopped it being demolished (half way through the process)

Thank you very much.

Totally stripped out unfortunately.

Want to go back to a mental home i went to a few years back soon, more interesting items there, than empty walls, floors and rooms!

This is what it used to look like.

oooh which one? I only know of Denbigh in the area, Talgarth is a bit far (done both), is there another I've missed without heading to Chester?

Where abouts are you from? Just spotted your location.

Where's Talgarth? Would it be worth going to? As i'm sure denbigh must be in a right state now...?

I was at Denbigh just a couple of weeks ago (my 2nd visit) here's my flickr set from that visit

It's decayed quite a bit since my first visit about a year ago, but fortunately the re-development isn't going on anymore so it's likely to be around for a while now :)

Talgarth is miles away in Mid Wales, did it last year but already they were knocking huge chunks of it down so not sure how much (if any) will be left now

Here's my Talgarth set

I'm assuming you've already done Hafodunos as it's only about 15 mins away from Llandudno?

Only been to Denbigh Mental!

Just had a flick through your Urbex sets on Flickr. Some cracking shots.

I can't get over how decayed and how much Denbigh mental has changed since i've last been! I've only been in the day once though.

How do you get that effect on your pictures, ive seen it done quite a lot on 28dayslater

Denbigh is still one of my fave's, I'm back there shortly and no doubt will find even more stuff (still not explored the nurses block at all yet) next time around.

You should definitely visit Hafodunos though, it looks like there's work going on around that atm, so one to visit sooner rather than later, and it's not far at all from Llandudno.

Another great set of shots Whittie. You have a great eye for this stuff. What a shame about the old building. It looked great while it was whole.

Mick.

First shot works really well. Quite atmospheric!

#6 For me, You can just feel the atmosphere in the shot, the lighting is spot on. Well done.
