As a change from Kingfishers, here's a couple of Barn Owls (my 2nd favourite birds) - both shot in the wild :)

In case anybody's wondering, the background in the 2nd shot is just the evening sky - exactly as it came out of the camera ;)

I've only ever seen three of these in the wild in my entire life and i lived on a farm for nearly 20 yrs !! i love 'em
 
these are my favourite birds so you get my vote anyway, cracking stuff :clap:
 
Excellent set Jeff - both superb captures but I do prefer no 1 for the enviromental setting.
 
Excellent, I'll go against the trend and pick #2...simply pin sharp and spot on exposure

Great studies of the bird, lots of detail and well exposed!

As we know, we differ on our approaches to photography...and they don't do much for me from the arty farty approach I prefer, but I appreciate them none the less! Good work! :)
 
both great but #2 wins it for me.
 
One of my most favourite bird and you done them loads of justice one for me but both great. well done.
