The Driver walked away from this much to the relief of everyone, I missed the impact but heard the bang when he hit the barrier then caught this

I was outside of Old Hall when it happened. Camera pointing the wrong way. I saw the one car go off wide and spin, heard the crunch, and saw bits and pieces and cars flying thru the dust and air.

Well caught though. I suspect there will be a fair few more photos on this forum with this crash with those standing inside of turn 1, down to cascades.

So thats what caused the red flag on the first lap. caught most of the one that safety cared the VW race. Getting food first.
 
the woman in the 4th photo says it all! i was on that side but nearer to old hall, just saw the flip in the cortner of my eye...

fair old round of applause when both drivers walked away! they were both just kids!!!! frightening!

so THATS what caused it!!!! which corner was this? and what caused it?
 
Looks like the exit of Old Hall to me. Excellent set of shots, really well caught.

Nice sequence of images!

This is the "snap" my wife took with her Ixus just as the car started to lift (she will not take my Nikon's out, says they are to heavy to carry!!)

I am 60% sure that the guy holding the camera/camcorder in the first shot is the drivers dad, as he came track side to his son! and we had to calm him down while getting his son out safely.

Anyone else get shots of the marshals attending?
