My Tamron 17-35mm arrived today (for using on FF d700), can't wait to get out and try it this evening :) Widest lens I've used up until now is 24mm, looking forward to trying something new :D
 
Its an excellent performer - way better than the Nikkor 18-35, and really really really close to the 17-35 f/2.8 AF-S.

I got one for my Sony A900 and it held up superbly, even on 24megapixel FF.
 
i'm looking to get this lens for either my 5dmk2 or d700 so let me know what you think, everyone seems to like it and it gets favourable reviews compared to the canon 17-40mm f4.

hope the weather is better where you are, its peeing down here!

will do, cheers.. Sunset over Frensham Pond I think, as long as the weather holds!
 
Be prepared for some pretty wiiiiide views Phil! It's a good performer on the D700. :)
 
quick test shot in the garden, not a great example for this type of lens but its certainly pretty sharp in the centre. No PP at all, straight out of the camera.
