I recently bought a Manfrotto 393 gimbal head, which at under £110 is often regarded as the poor man's Wimberely, for less than 1/4 the price. I took it out for it's first use in the field today and it worked well. Here is a short video review/demo of the product....

Tim, I have had one for ages now,I have used the Wimberely type heads and don`t consider them to be any better at what they do to justify the huge price gap.
