Just a quick one to start off the thread..
Not the best because of freezing fog...

Climbed penyfan at 5.30am today for sunrise and then onwards to waterfalls...

Most people tired, probably going home to bed after gettting up at 2.30am...

Looking forward to seeing the ones of Pen-y-Fan and the waterfalls.:):):)

WOW that last ones a sunner.

The misty sun shot is stunning, well worth getting up at daft o'clock for.

They are just sooo wrong!!!

Sorry all, but it appears I have an been carrying an eye infection all week, and it decided to manifest itself last night. My left eye is a bit of a mess (wearing my contacts to long i expect.:bang:)

So will post some up when it clears.

But here are a couple to add to the rogues gallery.

That was an utterly knackering but fantastic day - cheers to Mark for organising it.
I ought to do more idiotic trips like this - it's good for the soul....

1) Corn Du in the pre-dawn light. It had only just got light enough to turn off my head-torch.

2) The obligatory sunrise shot. CarolineS and I were much slower than the rest, so this is taken from Corn Du and the mountain is Pen y Fan.
20100220-071638-IMG_6995.jpg

3) After sunrise CarolineS and I headed over to Craig Gwaun Taf. The low sun and swirling mist was very dramatic.

4) CarolineS nicely lends the ridge scale. I love the subtle colours in this shot.
20100220-073027-IMG_7043.jpg

5) It was not as dangerous as this makes it look. I'm well chuffed with the drama in this shot.

6) CarolineS posing for a shot - you can probably imagine the instructions; "over there please, one more step, and another, and another.......". That was as close to the edge as was comfortable.
20100220-073812-IMG_7062.jpg

7) The distant mountains were lovely. Believe it or not, this has was taken without filters and has had no tweaks in Lightroom - that 70-200 f4 is a wonderful lens.
20100220-090744-IMG_7110.jpg

8) A delicate waterfall.
20100220-113228-IMG_7158.jpg

9) This started out as an exercise in extreme tilt, but this 'straight' shot with the background heavily out of focus works better.
20100220-121600-IMG_7206.jpg

10) An obligatory waterfall shot. I was shattered and wasn't really in the mood and this is the best of the bunch. I suspect the others will post up some stunners shortly.
