This page and subsequent pages form the Terms and Conditions for accessing Talk Photography (the site) and all subdomains and subsections thereof. By registering and/or using the site, you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions. All our terms and conditions apply to any content created by you, either directly or indirectly. This includes, but is not limited to : Registrations, usernames, posts on the forums, private messages, signatures, profiles, or any other comments on or via the forums. Slack Media Ltd may modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without warning. Moderator decisions are final. The use of anonymous proxies or such software or methods to access the site is not allowed. Attempting to circumvent site security or gain access to restricted areas is not allowed. We are an English site, with primarily English speaking members, therefore please speak English only. By posting on talkphotography.co.uk, you grant Slack Media Ltd and/or its agents irrevokable permission to store, reproduce, backup or re-present in public, in any location or via any media, and/or modify (for editorial purposes only) that content. All images, graphics, and photographs posted remain copyright of the respective author, and will not be used by Slack Media Ltd without express permission from the author. Content directly copied from elsewhere and re-presented on Talk Photography must include a link back to the source material, and credit to the original author. Talk Photography moderators may edit any site content as they see fit, or as needed to enforce the Terms and Conditions. Site Account
Membership of the site and ability to post on the forums or gallery, is a privelege, not a right. You are only permitted one account on talkphotography.co.uk. If you are found to be using multiple accounts, then all relevant accounts may be banned. We do not delete or close accounts on request if you have already posted. If you have, and wish to remove your details, then edit your User Profile and click save. Usernames cannot be changed after registration. Multple accounts created to get round this rule may be deleted without warning. Usernames must not contravene any of the rules that also govern all other site content, for example posts and signatures. Usernames must not contain an email address or URL. You must have a valid, active email address in your profile at all times. If an email from us to you is 'bounced back' then we may temporarily suspend your account until you resolve this or contact us. Email addresses will NEVER be passed to a third party, for ANY reason (except where required by law or except as stated in these terms and conditions). We will NEVER sell your details. We may occasionally email you with site news from time to time. You can opt out of all but extremely important emails, by unticking "Receive email from Administrators" in User CP > Options. General Conduct No swearing or offensive language, including partial masking of such. If you wish to use an expletive, type it out fully and let the swear filter catch it, or censor the whole word yourself with asterisks. If you choose the former, please check your comment after posting to make sure the swear filter has recognised the expletive, please do not assume. The swear filter is by no means contains an exhaustive list, so if a word isn't 'caught' by the filter, then please do not assume that it is considered OK to use. If in doubt, leave it out. No illegal or possibly illegal comments, for example, racist, libellous or threatening remarks. We do not claim to be child friendly or a 'family forum', but please be mindful of others when posting. Just because you are not offended yourself doesn't mean someone else won't be. Please don't take forum threads "Off Topic". However, the 'original poster' ("OP") of the thread is given more leniency to do so. No 'goodbye' posts. If you wish to leave the forums or site, we regret that you are doing so, but please do so quietly. No blatant and unnecessary spamming. Please do not cross post threads and posts (Ie submitting the same thread/post twice or more in separate forum locations). Trading outside the classifieds forums is prohibited. 'Gauging interest / Test sale' threads are not allowed anywhere on the forum. Conduct towards other members No posting argumentative comments or remarks, or those aimed to invoke a negative reaction. No offensive, rude or derogatory comments towards another member. No insults or personal attacks towards other members. No harassing behaviour towards other members. Please have respect and offer courtesy. If you can't say anything in a civil manner...don't say anything at all. Disagree by all means, but criticise the thought, not the thinker. Healthy discussion is welcomed and encouraged, but we can all do so without being rude or using nastiness towards each other. No telling members to 'use the search' in an abrupt or rude fashion. No criticising a member if they post something that has already been posted. Please do not criticise moderator decisions publicly. Instead, use the Contact Us link to resolve things privately and amicably. Prohibited Content The following content is prohibited on talkphotography.co.uk.
Photography Jobs We only allow established members to ask for photographers. This can be for assistance for an upcoming event or project they are involved in, or to pass on a booking to a fellow professional that they otherwsie cannot fulfil themselves. We do not allow the following :
If you are unsure of whether a post is allowed or not, please use the Contact Us link to check. Avatars You may select your own custom avatar by editing your User Control Panel. You may upload an image of your own choosing, with a maximum size of 80x80 pixels, and filesize of 20k. Animated avatars are not allowed. Signatures You may select a signature to appear under your posts by editing your User Control Panel. Your signature can be an image up to a maximum of 500 pixels wide, 100 pixels high, with a maximum filesize of 20k, text only or text and a smaller image. In any case your signature may not exceed the equivalent height of 6 lines of normal sized forum text on an average monitor screen. Signatures may NOT contain any dynamic code (eg, PHP code or rotating signatures), unless pre-approved by staff. Animated signatures are not allowed. Related FAQ : Why does my signature not show in my post? Private Messages Members have the use of the forums Private Messaging system. This must not be used to contravene site rules. This facility will only be available once a member makes 5 posts. This is an anti-spam measurement. Private messages between moderators and members are to be kept private. Moderators may discuss the content of forum related Private Messages with other moderators. Posting Images You may include images / photos in your posts. To respect people that still access the internet via dial up or that are running small screen resolutions, images displayed in posts should be no larger than 800 pixels along their longest side, and if hosted by us in our free gallery, also have a maximum filesize of 200kb. There is no file size restriction on images hosted offsite, although we urge users to be sensible, we reserve the right to break links to images we feel may take too long to download. Panoramic images are permitted up to a maximum of 1024 pixels along the longest edge. We consider an image panoramic if it contains 2 or more shots stitched together, and has a 2:1 size ratio or higher. This means that if an image is 1024 pixels long, then it must be maximum 512 pixels high. Image dimension rules apply to all images, regardless of hosting. Talk Photography respects all copyright law. Any images displayed remain the copyright of the owner at all times. While we can not stop people saving, copying or distributing any images shown here, we expect our members to respect the owner’s rights. If people are proven to be breaking these rules, they may have their account removed. Any images that are 18+ or may offend must be marked as such, with a warning in the thread title. Editing Other Members Photos If you would like to edit a photo that another member has displayed on Talk Photography, with the intention of helping improve their photo or photography, then you may only do so if they have chosen to allow it. This choice is displayed by the use of an icon in their profile, which looks like this . If this is displayed, then any photos they post on the forum, may be edited and then reposted on Talk Photography only.However, this is if the following conditions are met and agreed to:

Extra rules and guidelines for specific subforums
(Please note these are in addition to all the above "Forum and Site Rules") Photo Sharing & Critique Images displayed in the Photo sharing and Critique forums must belong to the poster or be posted with the copyright holder’s permission. Any images that contain nudity, must only be displayed in the specific Nudes and Glamour Photography forum InDepth Critique This is for detailed, in-depth critique of images only. Only one photo can be posted per day in this forum. Nudes & Glamour Photography Obviously nudity is acceptable, as before. As such imagery is now in its own specific forum, we now allow full frontal nudity to be shown. However, we will still not tolerate any graphically sexual images, nor any that focus attention on genitalia. This includes, but is not limited to, genitalia closeups. Admin reserve the right to decide, on a case by case basis, whether an image posted fits the above criteria or not.
If admin think that a photo may be in breach of the rules, we may remove the image, and request proof of age. All admin decisions are final. Classifieds All of the following rules are applicable to both the For Sale/Trade & Wanted forums, unless stated otherwise. Disclaimer Talk Photography, its administrators or site staff cannot and will not accept liability for any loss incurred by the use of the classified forums. Deals on here are an agreement between, and the ultimate responsibility of, the buyer and the seller only. However, we will do everything in our power to assist an aggrieved party, if a particular trade should turn sour. IMPORTANT : When partaking of a deal, we STRONGLY recommend you follow the Classifieds Guidelines. Current minimum membership criteria : 30 days membership and 100 posts All other (Global) forum rules still apply.
Problem deals We publish the names of people who are banned from the classifieds forum in a 'Banned List' thread, maintained by site staff. We also list usernames of accounts that have had their classifieds access removed, either temporarily or permanently. Posts and behaviour in the Classifieds forums are dealt with much more strictly than the rest of the forum. The minimum moderation you will encounter is removal of your post or thread without warning. Some transgressions may mean you will find your access to the classifieds forums is removed. Please read the rules, and consult them regularly. Ignorance is no excuse. * Advertisers threads are currently exempt from these rules Final Words : While we may not have accounted for every single situation, the spirit of these rules is clear and evident, and will be enforced and interpreted as such by site staff.
