Hey folks,

A small selection of the huge bunch I posted on my Flickr..

My first try at track based motorsports....

Tried panning etc.. Not a terrible set for my first go...

Ended up with too slow a shutter speed on many I think....

They look pretty good to me for a first time, #1 looks the best :)

Some of them look a little dark, but I'm guessing it was an overcast day?

Agree with Danny on the watermark, also impressed by the quality.

#5, however, is a binner.

As Jake says, 5 is a binner. I'm afraid its not one of those that turn out wrong but have some kind of accidental appeal either.

The others however are pretty good, especially for a first effort.

Overall a superb first effort!

My criticisms would be that as mentioned 5 doesn't cut it. And that the framing on 2 would benefit with an extra 15% infont of the lead car.

I hope you enjoyed it enough to go again!

Thanks all of you for the nice comments...

Yes I really enjoyed it, Yes I will go to more motoracing in the future and I will go back to Snetterton...

A random mix of the huge number of shots I posted from race day....

very nice buddy.

what length lens were you using, just out of interest?

Thanks,

I had a 100-400 on for most of these.....

It proved to be very flexible for all the different shots I needed...

I really want to go back and have a another go now....

Second set is leaps better than the first, it would make it easier to comment if you numbered them though!

Also if you want to try it out again go down this weekend, they have a BritCar meeting on, think it's only £13 on the gate to get in.

Thank you....I guess the practice helps :)

I renumbered all the shots to make it easier to comment....

This weekend I am shooting the Olympic practice race, but will be checking out the Snetterton agenda for something else to shoot...

Thanks again all for the comments, a really technically difficult thing to shoot with any sense of speed....

Thanks for numbering them, now I can be a bit more specific. :) As I said the second set (7 onwards) is hugely improved. #12 is great and something quite similar to what I'd do in that area. #13, #14, #15 & #18 are all great pans although #15 compositionally isn't that great it does capture some of the action! Nice work, as I say get yourself down to some more events! :)
