Hi Alix, welcome to the forum.

I was there myself and can testify as to how diffcult conditions were. The light really was terrible.

You've caught some nice action, however your processing lets them down as you've overdone the Shadow/Highlight tool (particularly in #1 & #2), making the shots look very unnatural and pastel-like as a result.

Hope that helps,

Rhod

Thanks Rhod can see what u mean and yep i had a lot of trouble in the morning with light with the ever changing conditions

Apart from the processing mentioned above I think you've done really well, really like 3&4 (NOTE: it would help if you numbered your photo's for comments etc)

.DAVID.

added numbers as u suggested david ty and yea im injoying taking panning shots pic 3 was on (1/30) at F9 and pic 4 was (1/60) at F4

Great panning on three at 30th ,spot on .

Rhodris advice is very good, and changing light and dull skies certainly make correct exposures very tricky, shooting manual is usually the way adjusting as you go using the histogram on your LCD.

Hi Alix

Me again lol, were these pics taken on automatic? I have been searching for the right setting to catch this type of photo but until now ive been unsuccessful. :(

Right here is a typical pic I take, I dont like automatic because it freezes everything.

all the date for my 1/30s pic is here Exif Data TV mode is your best friend on panning shots i find and a steady hand though IS helps a lot :)
short ver of the data

Camera Canon EOS 1000D
lens EF-S55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS
Exposure Program Shutter speed priority AE (TV mode)
Exposure 0.033 sec (1/30)
Aperture f/9.0
Focal Length 96 mm
ISO Speed 100

I dont have TV mode (canon).

I only have settings M, A, S, P for my Nikon which setting would be similar?
