Strange mark on sensor.

Hi Guys

A friend of mine has noticed a strange mark on the sensor of his D3s when he was cleaning it, and is curious as to what it could be, so I'm hoping that someone here can shed some light on the potential cause!

It looks like residue of liquid, but he has never wet cleaned his sensor so it's not residue from a swab or anything. He has however used the nozzle of a Henry vacuum cleaner on the opening of the camera to try and remove dust from the sensor before, which I'm pretty sure was a bad idea......!

I've taken pics as best I can, which are below.

Anyone any clues???

Thanks!

Just an update guys.

My friend has just given his sensor a thorough wet clean and the mark is still there. It hasn't shifted at all and seems to actually be underneath the surface!

So it doesnt appear to be oil!

Any more ideas?

Cheers
i had this on my d300 and it only show above f13 i just dont go over that, if you friend has cover get it sorted.

Is it possible the suction from the vacum cleaner caused the sensor to bend or deflect, and that has resulted in some distortion or delamination of the sensor.
