I WILL have a go at it, as I've rather stupidly joined in with Kelack's challenge too, I thought the two would complement each other rather well

3rd January 2013

From Leicester with Love, as opposed to Russia which is a bit of a long way away

Hubby picked this up outside the shoe shop whilst waiting for me to finish shoe shopping as he wanted to sketch it. I've got in first though with my photograph.

Thanks both, I'm really happy with this one, but still life is my favourite subject to shoot. Back out for a landscape tomorrow.

I saw this on my phone earlier and I can tell you, the Samsung does not do it justice! Great photo - the colours against that background work so well.

I like that the textures of the leaf, and then the processed wood of the table really work well together, sort of clean and tidy in one aspect and tired and unkempt in the same frame

Day 4, 4th January 2013

The old bridge at Artlenock (or for those not local Irthlingborough).
This used to be the main bridge on the A6 but it has been replaced with a modern flyover. There is a car park for an industrial estate right next to the bridge and there is a wooden sort of bridge to an island in the middle of the river which gives good access.

They certainly don't, but there are 2 in Irthlingborough. I photographed the other one in the snow last winter.

Love day 3. The crisp leaf contrasts with the soft background nicely, really pops! The water droplet really tops it off. Beautiful.

Oh, I love that! I almost wish the.. stuff (grass?) under the first arch on the left wasn't there... the water blends seamlessly into the sky under the 2nd arch and it would've just been the icing on the cake! But still, it's stunning. Really beautiful!

Thanks all, the 9 stop came in useful today with the water, making it nice and smooth. I know what you mean about the grass in the arch Toni & that is probably going to be removed
