does this work in black and white?

Hi, after a lovely cold walk along the river i shot this and after a play cant decide if it works better in black and white or colour. It was cloudy with just the glint of the sun in the distance. Couldnt use the tripod as there was literally nowhere to stand unless i waded into the river! Comments always welcome, even if you think it's a rubbish shot, always trying to learn and improvre.

Best in colour, but I think the ingredients are there to make a good B&W pic. You have good reflections on the water, light falling on the grass and a bright area at the bottom of the sky. I suggest that you darken the sky to dramatise the shot.

Would work better for me in b&w if had clear sky.

I really like the B&W version, it reminds me of an old photo my grandparents had on their wall !

I think it could look better still if you 'aged' the picture (photoshop)

I like both, but they do have those nasty halo's again though!
I think the bright patch in the water needs some major work, to look ok in the B&W

Prefer the BW, but needs a little more contrast.
