Go for the backgrounds. You may miss out on a few pictures a game but when you do nail the focus your pictures will look a lot better in my opinion. Try it out! Ben

Not a fan of 'before the ball was hit' shots. Usually find with cricket action looks best after the ball has been hit. Find the bowling frame to be a bit too messy for me. I would try to shoot the bowler more side on and get him inbetween the umpire and stumps or even straight on can work! Ben

The only one I really like is of the guy in the green jumper hitting out the sand. Could do with cropping tighter though. I think in general you need to get closer to the action, everything is just too small in the frame. Also, try to keep backgrounds clean. Avoid golf buggies and other people...

4 and 5 for me. Unless your working for shimano wouldn't bother leaving the branding in and would crop tighter to the rider.

Nice set. Just watch out for stewards in your backgrounds like in number 2!

Number 4 and 3 for me. Think 'man opening gate' is a bit dull personally. I think number 2 would benefit from being shot wider to show of what looks like some fantastic scenery in the background. Personally for me i'm not a huge fan of the washed out sky in number 6 but like the way you have...

Get lower, try to find locations with cleaner backgrounds and also where riders will show more emotions in their faces. As previously mentioned hills etc

Like number 1 and 4. Unless the second one is a goal pic would be in the bin along with number 3 for me!

Try sitting in the stands and using the grass as a background. Just cleans up the background and gets rid of the awful empty seats and advertising.

Hi James, First pic for me. Other 2 would go in the bin if it was me shooting! Gary, for me that edited version has been pulled back a bit too much. I would have probably done somewhere in between the two... Ben

Nice shots, maybe a touch over sharpened and number 3 could do with a landscape crop. Minor details but would make them must better in my opinion! Ben

I can see why you left it because of the bokeh, I think people would still notice it with the crop. I know I certainly would! Ben
