Thank you, I intend to return in the autumn and try again :)

Wide angle on a tight budget.

Thanks, I might head back and revisit the shot then :)

Wide angle on a tight budget.

The specific instance that makes me want a wider lens was a hole in a cave roof where I wanted the rocks in the image along all four sides. I don't think a stitched panorama would have worked in that instance, but I agree it would be good as another technique to learn. I will give that a go next...

Thanks for the recommendations. All out of my budget right now, but something to save up for.

    Photoshop - Where to buy?

I agree, subscribing to Creative Cloud makes LR and PS affordable. It's a great option.

Wide angle on a tight budget.

Hi, for wide angle shots I use a Canon 18-55mm kit lens but lately I have been wanting to get out a little bit further, maybe to 15mm or so. I can't afford to spend a lot, but it seems prime lenses below 40mm are quite expensive, but I also feel that I have reached the point where I want a...

    Critique Cromford from Black Rocks

Here is a landscape I took from the trail near Black Rocks an Derbyshire, showing what I think is Cromford. Please let me know what you think could be done better. Thank you :) IMG_3449.jpg by David Ward, on Flickr Canon EOS 1100D EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III ƒ/7.1 39.0 mm 1/1600 400

    Critique Viators Bridge, Milldale

Here is an image I took of Viators Bridge, crossing the River Dove at Milldale. I have my own opinions on what could be better, but I am hitting a plateau and I feel this picture represents my current level quite well. Please be critical, in a constructive way :) IMG_4684.jpg by David Ward, on...

    Buttercups and Trees

I like this, the tree centred works in portrait for sure, but don't forget it is sat at the line of third at the top. I think that is why it works so well, the rules are not broken but simply rotated. It's a nice way of changing things up a bit. The focus to me looks spot on, it is something I...

    Hello from Derby!

Thank you! I have a few images I will post later over the weekend. Another favourite I forgot to mention is night sky photography, but I am sorely lacking equipment for that :)

    Hello from Derby!

Hi, I am a keen amateur from Derby who would love to get some feedback on my images and also discuss upgrades, techniques and locations! I love landscapes and macro, but enjoy anything that makes a good subject. My playground is the Peaks.
