Whilst I agree with the issue with the "3 step tripods" I don't see any issue with tripods with clamps other than those cheap brands (or cheap manufacturing).
I have been using a Velbon D600 for 20 yrs now and the clamps are still operating perfectly, and I can't envisage any problems with...
This years competition is currently in Early Entry Phase (basically accepting entries taken during 2016) .
The last day for submission of Early Entries is 30th April, after which entries taken during the current Airshow season ONLY will be accepted.
