I stumbled on this thread today and just spent 2 hours going through it all!
I think it's brilliant, inspired, interesting, touching .... and some of the shots just crack me up. I hope you get as much out of doing it as you obviously give to those of us reading it.

My friend Carole persuaded me to submit this photo .... so here it is
Taken at Flamborough Head, East Yorks on a wet and windy day. I used a 70-300mm lens - and very little finesse given the weather! Feedback very welcome, I am a beginner and happy to learn
Oh boy. I'm a total beginner to photography and when I look at the photos on this site I wonder why I'm bothering as I cant ever see me getting to such a standard! I love all of these, cant tell you why technically, but the reed warbler does it for me
Be patient, it took 18 months for us to get goldfinches to our garden, but now they come back every year and have multiplied .. not unusual for us to get 6 at a time and we have an inner city garden. Green finches also eat the nijer seed. Only just started with photography so not brave enough...
