Hi Taz I've got both a D3 and a D600 ( lucky me!), both fantastic cameras but two completely different animals, I use the D3 as you would imagine for sport, Motorsport, aircraft etc but in my opinion it's too much of a lump for weddings, everyday and holiday type shooting and the extra pixels...

i've got the Nikon f4 24 -120 which is pretty well balanced on the D600, gives good results and is a little cheaper than the 24 - 70, which IMHO is a little too big for a walkabout lens, fantastic though it is

getting back to the original post, if you are used to the layout and handling of the D7000 you will find the D600 the ideal upgrade unless you need something a bit more robust

I sort of imagined that the D800 was the replacement for the D700 and the D600 was the opportunity for crop frame (ie D7000 etc) users to move into the realms of FF, it's no D3/4 thats for sure, but for built quality I don't think the D700 is either, but I do think it fills a niche in the...

I used to own a Canon 5D mk 11 that suffered seriously from a mucky sensor, oil, dust you name it, I don't seem to have any problems with the D3 or the D7000 although I think I use them pretty much the same way

glad you enjoyed the D3 Trev, got to say can't imagine anyone who wouldn't (I suppose maybe a D3s/x owner) hope you turned a pound or 2 with it

that is a fantastic shot of miss demeanour in 5 but the sound and look of a sea fury with her takes some beating
