    Genealogy sites

Except it came up on my FB feed only last week. Ok probably because people are posting comments on it, but it’s still misleading.

    Genealogy sites

I noticed that too. It’s a bit naughty of Ancestry to keep running the ad on FB when they must know that offer expired a long time ago. Surprised they haven’t been jumped on by the advertising authority.

    Loft insulation survey scam

The site might be all right but spray on foam insulation definitely isn’t… terrible stuff that causes lots of problems.

    Cash is King !!!

There’s still some need for cash, although I don’t use it regularly nowadays. Our neighbour comes round every year collecting for Poppy Day. He was complaning last year that nobody had any cash to put in the tin and that he might have to invest in a card reader. Similarly, my wife and me...

    Scam?

I had a reasonably convincing call yesterday from my bank’s “security department ” telling me there had been a couple of suspicious attempts at using my card in Scotland and how my card would be blocked and a new one issued. There was then a lot of advice about being careful online and not...

    Passports

Seems that you can book a trip, give the holiday company your passport details, check in, go through security at the airport but it only gets revealed as an issue when you get to the boarding gate. It might well have been in force since Brexit changed the rules but I don’t think it’s been very...

Just EU. Holidaymakers going to EU caught out by 10-year-passport rule https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68658209

    Passports

My wife nearly got caught out by the 10 year rule as her passport had 10 years, plus nearly 9 months carried over from her previous one. We’re going to an EU country in a few months time and she wouldn’t have been able to fly. So she’s had to apply for a new one, even though there was still...

    New Kitchen Recommendations

We’ve had Howdens units in our last two houses and have been very happy with them. Unfortunately they don’t sell direct to the public, so you’ll either have to get a tradesman to buy them on your behalf or make yourself up some ahem, trade paperwork.

“Technical issues” apparently. Seems to be ok now but I’ve changed my passwords just in case.

How does your garden grow? ( open thread)

Funnily enough I’ve also got tomato and sweetpeas seeds coming along, also got some delphinium and aqualegia plants that I grew from seed but were too late to plant last year, so they’ve been overwintering in the greenhouse. We’ve got big plans to do the back garden this year. I’ve done a...

    Facebook

Down Detector says it’s a worldwide issue. Over 300,000 reports when I checked a few minutes back. I wonder if it’s a cyberattack?

    Have Amazon ditched EVRI?

We haven’t had a decent Evri driver for a very long time sadly. When we moved here 3 years back it was a Polish lady who was excellent, but since she left they’ve all been universally awful.

    Have Amazon ditched EVRI?

Same here. The only time we’ve had non branded vans was around Xmas when they subbed some of the deliveries out to contractors. I live in a small village and Amazon are very good here, as are DPD. Evri are always terrible… they lie about nobody being home or that they’ll deliver on a certain...
