Took up photography in late 1970s with a pair of Nikon FMs. I've tried most fields of photography and photograph anything that looks interesting but recent output is mostly urban or rural landscapes, macro and 'street' photography. Photographers I admire: Gerry Broughton, the head of dept in my 2 years at Southfields college, Leicester; Elliott Erwitt, Robert Doisneau, Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Weston, Yousuf Karsh, Shinzo Maeda, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Heather Angel, Martin Parr. I've had a variety of cameras but am currently using a Panasonic Lumix DMC G5, often with a wide-angle attachment stuck on the lens. Intend getting another good compact or two and an SLR eventually.
