    2nd shot is my favourite but to my eye there's a bit of cloning been down to the bottom left of the leftmost firework which seems to repeat the same elements and is distracting. Tidy that up and it'd be superb.

    I had a D700 for a few months and sold it to upgrade to a D3. I don't regret it. The swinger for me was dual cards, slightly better framerate and 100% viewfinder. I love my D3!

    I've got both Canon and Nikon, by my comments were regarding the Canon, given that's what you have.

    I picked one up off ebay a few weeks back with 7200 actuations for £1800, so they are out there.

    In my experience, the bokeh is better on the 1.4, and the build quality is vastly superior to the very plasticky and noisy 1.8. The 1.4 is my most used lens by a mile.

    Doesn't work for me I'm afraid. The eye is drawn to the fencepost, so I guess the question is whether or not that was your intended focal point?
