    weekly My 52 for 2012

Not had my camera out properly for a few weeks, so this will give me the motivation to do so. Started this late so will need to get the thinking hat on for this week's theme.

Question about location for Forth Bridge

Hi, I'm back in Scotland for the next six weeks and want to get out and take photos, been home 3 days and bored already! Thinking the sunset might be good tonight and was thinking of doing the Forth Bridge, my question is can anyone advise where to park and where you can get down on to the...

    Speedlite

Thinking of buying a speedlite for use with a canon 450d. I have looked at the yongnuo brand as an alternative to the canon equivalent(580). Can anyone advise whether the cheaper option is a worthy alternative for a keen amateur or would if be better to hang off and spend the money on the canon...

Kek Lok Si Temple, Malaysia (HDR warning)

I like the very first shot of the temple. Great colours and composition. I also agree on the first monk shot being the better of the two.

    Shanghai

Thanks for the feedback so far. I agree the second 2 don't show the scale of the city, #2 tells a story for me. The flags flying above the buildings are those of China, yet the architecture is distinctly un-Chinese. Re James, Shanghai is a cracking city, China is mostly a fantastic place with...

    Shanghai

These are some shots I took in Shanghai last weekend. I bought Understanding Exposure and began reading it on the flight, it encoutraged me to move from Av and try manual, these are some of my first attempts. I feel empowered and more in control of how the photo looks now. Let me know what you...

    Delailuma's 2011 52 - Week 6 Clutter NOT added

Is there some rule in the 52 where you can do a reshoot of a week? I've literally had no time to shoot anything for Clutter as it's been a busy time in HK. I really don't want a gap in my 52 though, so this post is a place marker!

    Delailuma's 2011 52 - Week 6 Clutter NOT added

Because I shot them from my apartment, there is another building in the foreground of the shot that prevents a crop where I can have the reflection of the fireworks on the water. There is another building on the right of the image that I would love to crop out but it would remove part of the...

    Moskiman's 52 for 2011 - Week 6, Clutter

Interesting take on the theme and if you look at some of my takes on themes you'll see equally tenuous ones, I prefer to call it subtlety! Nice composition on the tree trunk, love the grain coming through in the freshly chopped part too. Well done.

    Lissa's Photo52 - Week 8 "Chaos" added

Of the 3 posted my preference is the third. I'd prefer it even more if the leaves on the right were taken out but I realise that might be tricky and would give the tree in the centre. Still great colours captured in the sky and the silhouette is fantastic.

TP 2011 Photos52 by Dubcat (Week 8 - Chaos - index in first post)

For me the 2nd of the 2 is fantastic. Love how subtley the theme is included and the candid nature of the photograph. I could've told you they were watching TV with the focussed stare of the twin nearest the camera. I think the cuteness of the 2 of them also swayed my opinion somewhat! I'm also...
