Crit, thoughts, its all good, have not got the camera out for anything other than snapshots in 6 months, felt creative last night and needed a new photo for facebook, tried taking a lot of shots and this was my favourite.

Any advice for a cheap standard case for XF1 and anyone got a link to some decent batterys? All the ones I can see on amazon have terrible reviews.

Had my eye on an x10 or xf1 for a few months so when I saw the curry's deal I had to go for it, black xf1 being delivered to my local curry's Saturday, away visiting family and friends in Norwich for xmas over the weekend so will have to wait until Monday to play with it :)

So what are peoples thoughts on the XF1? Currys have them for £200 at the moment which seems a fair bit cheaper than anywhere else.

I would say as others have the only thing you need is your kit lens and a sturdy tripod and shutter release, maybe some graduated filters and just go play :)

I know people are mostly trying to be helpful its just when your what you thought was a simple request ends up getting taken off on tangents :P Anyway the ricoh g1, hexar af and contax t3 look almost like exactly what I am after, just a bit out of my price range hehe, I think I will get an SLR...

What I meant was manual, lcd display, autofocus and small/compact 35mm, by all the bells and whistles I meant relative to a trip 35, nothing like todays DSLRs bells and whistles.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, nothing has really floated my boat apart from the canon g series so I may pick one up if I see a cheapie but think for time being I will get a trip 35 and some B+W dev equipment and get what i really want when I have the money which would be a Fuji x1-/20/100 :)

Question I would be asking is why do we NEED more than 24MP leave alone 36MP? Besides would you rather have incremental steps and problems with those steps or bigger steps once lessons have been learned and a more refined product?

What about a reversing ring? can be had for £5-10 off Amazon or ebay and give some great results, would recommend you got it for your 16-35mm lens as the shorter the focal length you use the greater the magnification :)

I am happy to buy second by the way and I am sure such a camera is out there somewhere considering what you can get for £150-200 that are very recent, I remember someone saying in another thread they picked up a ricoh for about £80, granted I think that was a 35mm focal length but still...
