These were all using manual focus,
I just cant get the auto focus to pick out a part. I have been trying to light a wheel with the torch, autofocus, flick to manual lock and shoot.. but the autofocus just wont really work for me.
Though I maybe had it in the wrong mode or suchlike...
As strange as title may seem.....
I am struggling to pick out the hair in this example. Where the hair meets the skin I would like to lift it as a layer... Am I being daft and just missing something obvious. My normal selection methods just arent working for me. Am tearing my own hair out...

How do you folks power your SB900 Flash units?
This is my first 'proper' flash gun and I am having some battery issues.
The Eon Lithium Batterys that they sold me with the flashgun last like 15 mins tops.
Any ideas for better lasting batteries?

I lived in the Shetland Isles for several years.. this is the place to go. Allbeit there a ferry fare to cover, if its not right for the Aurora there plenty more to photograph. Stunning place
